Biography

Robert Tucker was a professor in the English department at University of Massachusetts Amherst and an editor of the Massachusetts Review. Although Skellings did not take courses from Tucker, they formed a lifelong friendship with Tucker writing letters and Skellings making phone calls. Tucker was the person who encouraged Skellings to get his doctorate at the University of Iowa.
