    Glenn Goerke is an American educator who served as a President Emeritus of the University of Houston. Skellings directed the International Institute for Creative Communication and reported to Goerke who was Vice President for Academic Affairs at Florida International University in Miami, FL. Goerke was developing an Open College concept for the then new state university. He was highly supportive of Skellings’ academic activities. Skellings wrote a poem for Goerke when Goerke’s father passed away on July 4th.
